Composite film (PET/PE) is a multi-layer functional packaging material. It is made by advanced technology that combines APET (amorphous polyethylene terephthalate) film and PE (polyethylene) film. It integrates the advantages of both materials, aiming to provide a comprehensive packaging solution that is protective, functional and economical.
The design principle of the double-layer composite structure (APET/PE)
APET layer (outer layer): It features excellent optical properties (high transparency and gloss), mechanical strength (rigidity, tensile strength and puncture resistance), as well as good gas barrier performance (such as oxygen and carbon dioxide). It forms the framework and the first line of defense of the packaging.
PE layer (inner layer): It mainly provides excellent heat-sealing performance to ensure a firm seal of the package. Meanwhile, PE has excellent flexibility, tear resistance and moisture resistance, which can adapt to the shape of the contents and protect them from moisture.
Synergistic effect: This structure achieves a “harmonious unity of strength and flexibility” – the APET layer ensures the overall rigidity and shape stability of the packaging, while the PE layer guarantees the reliability of the seal and the durability during daily use.
Customizable peelability
Easy-tear design: Utilizing a special process, the composite film can be cleanly and smoothly peeled off at the seal under a preset force without damaging the packaging itself. This significantly enhances consumer convenience and is commonly used in the initial packaging of ready-to-eat foods, condiments, and medical devices.
Non-detachable (non-detachable/permanently sealed) design: It provides an absolutely safe and permanent seal, ensuring that the contents remain absolutely sealed and safe during transportation, storage, and final opening. It is suitable for goods that require long-term preservation or have high sealing requirements.
High barrier performance and durability
High barrier performance: The APET/PE structure can effectively prevent the intrusion of external factors such as oxygen and water vapor, thereby extending the shelf life of food and maintaining the sterility of medicines and medical devices.
Durability and toughness: This material combines the hardness of APET and the toughness of PE, making the packaging less prone to damage, puncture or deformation during transportation, thus ensuring the integrity of the product throughout the entire chain from production to consumption.
Main application fields
Food preservation packaging: For instance, high-barrier plastic films used for sealing packages of cooked food, meat, cheese, snacks, sauces, etc., can effectively maintain freshness and extend the shelf life.
Medical device packaging: Sealed packaging for sterile medical devices, injection-molded plastic films or sterilization bags, with high barrier performance and customizable peelability (easy to tear open for aseptic operation), is a key guarantee for medical safety.
Industrial and consumer product packaging: Moisture-proof and dust-proof packaging for electronic products and precision parts, as well as plastic card packaging for daily necessities, etc.
